Edgeley's Castle Street to host summer fun day and market
A Summer fun day and market will take place in the centre of Edgeley on Saturday 3 August.
The event is completely free to attend, and will take place on Castle Street from 10.30am to 2.30pm. It is being organised by Worker Bee Markets, which runs similar events across Stockport borough.
As well as almost 40 talented local traders and makers, there will be a whole host of other activities; crochet lessons, tarot readings, County-themed prize giveaways, glitter tattoos, Olympic colouring competitions, and much more - a huge range of options for a top family day out.
Further still, there will be music all day from resident DJs Semi Tone Studios.
At the stalls, you can expect to find affordable, unique handmade crafts, gifts, treats, homeware and much more.
The organisers said: "From 10.30am the market will be open with lots of stalls to browse. Kids will be able to get glitter tattoos from artist Glitter Bees whilst listening to local Semi Tone Studios who'll be providing a DJ set until 2.30pm.
"New traders Takacs Events will run a competition to win one of their light up balloons and Stockport Girl Guides will be running activities all day such as planting wild flower seeds, making a yarn bug and making CD sun catchers. Alan Moore from Crystal Heart will be offering one to one tarot readings too."
"There are professional Taekwondo demonstrations from 12 noon with Liam Foran of Taekwondo Academy Stockport. Your kids can have a go too.
"From 10.30am - 1.30pm, they're running an Olympic-themed colouring in competition for age ranges up to 3, 4-7 and 8+ with prizes for the best pictures (prizes chosen to celebrate Stockport County). The winners will be announced at 2pm.
"And the free Learn to Crochet Workshop, run by Worker Bee regular Mel Whitehead from Made By Mel, is suitable for everyone aged 12+ and runs from 11.30am - 1pm. Take home a new skill and a goodie bag worth over £10 so you can continue to practise at home. (This workshop is currently full but if you'd like to register your interest in case someone drops out, you can email [email protected]."
