A Stockport-based charity will host a community sleepout to raise money and awareness for homelessness.
The Wellspring, which offers support for homeless and vulnerable individuals in Stockport, will host the sleepout on Saturday 12 October, and is calling on local residents to take part.
"This powerful event not only raises much-needed funds but also shines a spotlight on the harsh realities of homelessness", a spokesperson said.
The event begins from 6.30pm, and lasts until 8am the following morning. Participants will experience "just a fraction of what it's like to be without a home", by sleeping outside through the night.
Every penny raised will go directly towards supporting The Wellspring's ongoing efforts to help those in need.

The Wellspring Spokesperson added: "Homelessness in Stockport and Greater Manchester has reached alarming levels, with 7,407 people (or 1 in every 74) experiencing homelessness in Manchester.
"[...] This is a unique chance for the community to unite and make a real difference. Your participation can help "Light Up Lives" across Stockport and beyond."
The Wellspring offers essential services such as food, clothing, mental health assistance, and housing / employment support. In 2023, the charity served over 63,000 meals and delivered 6,000 1:1 support sessions.
