Cheadle Primary School retains its 'Good' rating from Ofsted
Cheadle Primary School has kept its 'Good' rating following a routine inspection from Ofsted.
The report stated: "Pupils enjoy school. Leaders and staff are highly ambitious for the achievement of all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and disadvantaged pupils.
"The academic, social and emotional support that leaders provide contribute strongly to how well pupils achieve. […]
"Teachers' high expectations for behaviour are clear. Pupils behave well. Classrooms are calm. This allows pupils to do their best in lessons. They are polite and well-mannered. They speak confidently and articulately with visitors."
The school was also praised for its "tangible community feel", where students feel safe and happy and enjoy a strong connection with staff.
Ofsted also pointed out that students enjoy a wide, well-planned curriculum, as well as good opportunity for after-school clubs and day visits.
As a point for improvement, the report said that teachers would benefit from better understanding of how successfully pupils are gaining knowledge in some subjects: "Leaders should ensure that, in these subjects, teachers gather sufficient information to identify and address gaps in learning so that pupils catch up and achieve well."
