Stockport residents now have the chance to celebrate local NHS workers, with nominations now open for the 'Making a Difference Awards'.

Run by the Stockport NHS Trust, the Making a Difference awards aim to recognise NHS staff or volunteers who have shown "hard work, dedication, or amazing care".

All you need to do is name a nominee and their job title, and explain why they made a difference - either to you or to someone else close to you.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony later in the year, and they will receive a certificate and a trophy.

Last year the ceremony was held at Stockport Town Hall and was hosted by radio presenter Andy Crane. (Image - Stockport NHSFT)

Karen James OBE, chief executive at Stockport NHS Trust, said the awards "are a great opportunity for us to celebrate some of the outstanding care and support which our colleagues provide".

She added: "This is a chance for the public to have their say in thanking those who they feel deserve it.

"If you want to let someone in Stockport NHS know they are appreciated, whether it's at Stepping Hill Hospital or in the community, then please make your nomination today."

Make your nominations by filling in the form HERE. Voting closes on Friday 28 June 2024.
