A car was left flipped onto its roof following a crash in Stockport on Sunday (15 March) evening.

Emergency services were called to Longford Road West around 9.10pm, where the car had hit a telephone pole and landed on its roof.

The driver was assessed at the scene, Manchester Evening News reports.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: "Around 9.10pm on Sunday 15 March, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Longford Road West, Stockport.

"Two fire engines from Stockport and Whitehill stations were quickly mobilised to the incident, which involved a car colliding with a telephone pole. Firefighters helped make the area safe before handing the scene over to Greater Manchester Police.

"The driver of the car was treated at the scene by North West Ambulance Service.

"Fire crews were in attendance for about half an hour."
