It was a shock night at Stockport's Garrick Theatre on Thursday (21 March), after a bus crashed into the corner of the building.

A 199 Skyline Bus - running from Buxton to Manchester Airport, hit an overhang above the theatre.

Emergency services were called to the scene just before 10.50pm. Emergency services assessed the bus, and the interior and exterior of the theatre, before removing the bus.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At just before 10.50pm (on Thursday 21 March) two fire engines from Stockport and Whitehill fire stations were called to reports of a collision involving a bus and a building on Exchange Street, Stockport.

"Crews helped to make the scene safe and were in attendance for around 30 minutes."
