A 42-year-old man has been charged for burglary following a recent break-in on Oakwood Road, Romiley.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Crime Team and CID in Stockport have secured a charge for John Cain, who was "arrested following diligent enquiries conducted by officers".

The man appeared in court yesterday (Sunday 8 October).

GMP Stockport said in a statement: "The Neighbourhood Policing team has been completing high visibility patrols in the area and offering out crime prevention advice.

"Burglary has a devastating impact on the victims and this charge clearly articulates the drive from officers to hunt down offenders and bring them to justice."
