Northumberland Road in Brinnington will be closed up to and including Friday 22 February while repair works take place.

The closure is between Brinnington Road and The Clough, with works starting from today (Monday 17 February).

A diversion route will be in place and signposted, with bus routes also affected.

Working times will be from 8am-5pm each day.

A Stockport Council spokesperson said: "To minimise disruption and to allow safe working operations to take place it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements utilising a temporary road closure during working times.

"Signed local diversions will be in operation.

"We have liaised with bus service providers and they will make the appropriate arrangements to any bus services that may be affected."
