Greater Manchester Police (GMP) recently confirmed the discovery of a body in an area of Marple, which has been confirmed as the missing Christopher Barlow.

Officers and specialist teams conducted a search around a 'specific' area after Christopher was reported missing on Sunday 4 June. He had last been seen at 1.23am around the Brabyns Brow area.

Christopher's family have been informed, and a report is being prepared for the coroner's office.

Detective Superintendent Helen Critchley of GMP's Stockport district said: "Firstly, our thoughts are with Chris's family and friends at this very distressing time.

"I would also like to thank the local community for their support with the search and the wider public for their assistance in sharing our appeal."
