There are well over 10,000 businesses operating in Stockport.

With so much choice in so many different sectors, it can be hard to stand out - but fortunately, an awards ceremony is taking place this year to showcase the best in class.

The Made in Stockport Awards is returning for 2026, with nominations now open.

Hosted every year, the awards aim to "celebrate, recognise, reward, and showcase the very best that Stockport has to offer".

Any business, of any sector, size or age, can nominate itself.

After this, a panel of judges produces a shortlist, feauring three nominees each in 13 different categories.

This shortlist is then put to a public vote.

The categories are as follows:

• Business of the Year (Over £10M Turnover)
• Business of the Year (£5M – 10M Turnover)
• Business of the Year (£1M – £5M Turnover)
• Business of the Year (Up to £1M Turnover)
• Employer of the Year
• Most promising Young Business
• Family Business of the Year
• Best not for Profit Organisation
• Best Digital / Creative Award
• The Innovation Award
• The Corporate Social Responsibility
• The Stockport Award
• Hospitality, Leisure & Retail Business of the Year

Entries will close in June.

The public vote will take place from July, after which the winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at the Royal Nawaab Pyramid on 8 October.
