UP CLOSE: Stockport collectibles shop popular as ever as it prepares for two-year anniversary

Stockport is famous for a few different things - as a hatting hub, as the birthplace of Fred Perry, and for the music of the likes of 10cc.
But it's also becoming a hotspot for collectibles, thanks to a shop on Chestergate.
Titan Pops, based at Graylaw House, specialises in collectible figurines, cards, accessories, and, as of recently, Playmobil sets.
Founder David originally started the business from a back bedroom in June 2021 - but before long, it expanded into a bricks and mortar shop on 30 March 2024.
By September 2025, with the shop proving more and more popular, David was able to leave his other working commitments and go full-time at the shop.
And so this month (March 2026) marks a spate of important anniversaries for Titan Pops - two years since opening up the Stockport shop, and six months since going full time (10am-5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-4pm on Sunday).
June, meanwhile, will mark the five-year anniversary of the business as a whole.
Reflecting on the journey so far, David said it feels bizarre to go and do what feels like a hobby for his full-time job.
"I have to check myself every time I come to open the shop", he said. "It almost doesn't feel like work".
It certainly seems like an exciting place to work - indeed, Titan Pops is a treasure trove of cool collectibles for fans of all ages and interests.
Central to the shop is the Funko Pop Vinyl range - these are stylised collectible figures from films, games, music, TV, and much more. As David says, if you have an interest, chances are there is a Pop Vinyl for it.
There's also collectible cards, plus Loungefly accessories, Disney Pin badges, and LEGO.
Some of these products are so popular - particularly the Pokemon cards - that David recalls instances of customers queuing around the corner to get into the shop when new items launch.
What's more, Titan Pops has just now introduced some Playmobil sets, meaning it's a perfect place to shop for youngsters or older collectors.
Sets feature exciting themes such as space, pirates, city, and more.
There really is something for everyone.
"We get a real range of customers", David explains. "Kids right through to older adults. Some people start their collection here, others never stop collecting!"

There's new stock pretty much every week, too, so chances are you'll be able to find something new every time you visit.
Some shop visitors have compared Titan Pops to Forbidden Planet - fans of that shop will certainly find lots to enjoy at Titan Pops. But as David says, he tries to make sure the business goes that bit further in stock and in customer service.
"We want to make the whole process of you getting your awesome item to you to enjoy as easy and as simple as possible", he said.
"Let's face it - Funko products are awesome and buying one should be an experience not a process."
