Pyramid Players Orchestra return to the Plaza after successful inaugural show
Exciting times are on the horizon for Stockport, as the Plaza welcomes a new forty-piece orchestra for a special performance this weekend.
The Pyramid Players will take to the stage at Stockport Plaza on Sunday 29 September, from 3.30pm.
This performance follows the band's inaugural show earlier this year.
The forty-piece aim to 'delight' the audience with a wide-ranging programme of music, including a few radio and TV themes - in what promises to be "a wonderful afternoon of musical nostalgia".
The band has been put together by John Wilson, who led the campaign to save Stockport Plaza twenty-five years ago.
"We're very pleased to be featuring the Plaza's original theatre organ in our next concert, with contributions from regular Plaza organist Michael Holmes", John said.
"We share our ticket sale proceeds with Stockport Plaza Trust, the registered charity, that maintains and runs the theatre. We also support the Light Music Society, another registered charity, by hiring our music from their national library collection of light music situated in Bolton".
