Purposely shopping for vintage and pre-loved clothing, accessories and homeware not only diversifies your wardrobe, but does a lot of good for the planet!

With a rich array of vintage shops, Stockport is the place to be for vintage-lovers.

Here's our guide to some of the best vintage shops in Stockport.

The Vintage Emporium, Pear Mill:

The Vintage Emporium at Stockport's Pear Mill is a real treasure trove, home to the likes of Sew & So, All Our Yesterdays, Planet Vintage Girl, and many more traders.

Whether you are after vintage crockery, homeware, clothes, shoes, or paintings, The Vintage Emporium really does have it all.

Traders such as Vintage Sewing Solutions No. 27's haberdashery even offer supplies for those wanting to make their own vintage-inspired clothing.

With its very own vintage tea rooms, open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.30 am-4pm, and 9.30am-4.30pm on the weekend, you can really make a day of visiting The Vintage Emporium.

20th Century Stores, Market Place:

Located at 26 and 27 Market Place, Stockport, opposite Stockport's Market Hall, 20th Century Stores is a seemingly never-ending maze of vintage shops.

Traders include Brik Vintage, who are 'driven by a mission to rescue clothing from the fate of landfills,' and Vintage Village Boutique, among others.

And last but not least...

Of course, one of the best places to find authentic vintage gems is your local charity shop, and the Stockport borough certainly has lots of them!

Not only are you bound to find a one-of-a-kind piece there, but you are also giving to charity in the process. Helping the planet, the community, and getting a cool new outfit - what's not to love?
