One of Stockport's longest running charities has received over £1000 from a local company.

Heaton Moor charity for Signpost for Carers has had £1087.51 fundraised for them by High Peak Comps.

The online prize draw operator based in Buxton raised the Signpost for Carers cash by taking part in Stockport Krazy Races.

High Peak Comps rode down St. Peter's Square in a hot pink soapbox as one of 27 competitors taking part in the event organised by Totally Stockport.

High Peak Comps' Charles Edwards and Callen Deighan overshot the hairpin turn at The Chestergate pub on their first attempt.

This led to a toppling over of their giant pink shoe they rode in, with the colourful clog car crashing into haybales.

Attendees were tickled pink by the incident which saw no injuries, and allowed them to go again and reach a better time of 28 seconds.

28-year-old Charles Edwards is the owner of High Peak Comps.

"We did this amazing challenge to raise £1000 for Signpost for Carers charity, and we are buzzing that we have smashed the fundraising goal by a further £87.51," said Charles.

"We donated £632 of that to the Stockport charity ourselves, and the rest is from you lovely lot.

"We had so much fun on the day and meeting loads of you in Stockport.

"All worth it… even if mine and Cal's shoulders are still a bit sore from the fall.

"Thank you to everyone who got behind us… including the hay bales!"

High Peak Comps donated £632 as a company themselves, with the rest being donated by those who entered their online prize draws or gave pennies to buckets on the day.

While they did not get anywhere near the quickest time, they did still win an award at Krazy Races.

The Derbyshire-based online prize draw operator won the public vote for the public's favourite soapbox.

Their hot pink clog-shoe ran away with the public vote, scoring over a quarter of the votes.

Bethan Kelly is CEO of Signpost for Carers in Heaton Moor said: "High Peak Comps were absolute superstars from start to finish!"

"They threw themselves into supporting Signpost in the run-up to Krazy Races and brought so much energy, fun and community spirit on the day with their brilliant croc soapbox."

The charity, which has been going for over 40 years this year is currently totting up the final total for the day across all their riders racing for them and their raffle on the day, but they are chuffed with the confirmed total from High Peak Comps.

"High Peak Comps raising an incredible £1,087.51 was a fantastic achievement, but their impact went even further, helping us put unpaid carers firmly in the spotlight and letting more people know that support is available through Signpost," added Bethan.

"We cannot thank the whole team enough for everything they did!"

The charity, which supports carers from as young as primary school age to 96, is located at The Heaton's Centre.

It is currently unclear if Stockport Krazy Races will return next year, or go on a two-year cycle again.

However, the online prize draw operator confirmed they would be up for riding the pink-croc through Stockport - or Croc-port - once again.

"Thank you again to everyone for their support," Charles added.

"We would love to do this again. Thanks to our friends in Stockport, the High Peak and all over for their support.

"And while this fundraiser is over, please keep supporting this amazing Stockport charity in the future! We certainly will too."

High Peak Comps is an online prize draw operator based in Buxton. As well as hosting online prize draws for prizes such as a £15,000 cash prize and over 500 individual LEGO prizes, they have given over £200,000 to charity since 2020.

High Peak Comps also paid for a defibrillator at Signpost for Carers Heaton Moor HQ in June 2026.
