The first bank holiday weekend of 2024 is approaching, and perhaps you're looking to hit the road and escape to make the most of this glorious four-day weekend.

Perhaps you have a home on wheels in a campervan, and are looking for a change in scenery.

Peak District  

The Peak District is right on Greater Manchester's doorstep, and what a blessing it is. With rugged moorland, impressive peaks, beautiful views of rolling countryside, and quaint market towns, it's hard to find how it could be more suited to a weekend getawaty

Ashbourne – Around 40 miles from Stockport and an hour and 30 minutes in travel time.  

  • Carsington Water  
  • Dovedale  
  • Museum of Childhood  

The Lake District  

Heading in the other direction to another of the UK's National Parks, the largest one in fact. It's a little bit further to drive, but it's certainly worth those few extra miles. Reconnect with nature with the expansive lakes, the famous fells and breathtaking scenery. The Lake District is a favourite with hikers and water sports enthusiasts, but with so much to explore, it's a great destination for a long weekend away.

Cheshire  

Being close by, Cheshire may not be the obvious choice for a weekend getaway. Still, it's got so much variety offering the perfect quick escape for a weekend away. From the historical city of Chester to beautiful market towns and fantastic forests, there's so much to explore.
