Mischance Creek - Garry Disher in conversation with Chris McDonald

Known as Australia's King of Crime, Garry Disher is a multiple Ned Kelly Award-winning author and we're overjoyed to be bringing him to Romiley to celebrate his latest Paul Hirsch mystery Mischance Creek - a tense thriller set in a small rural Australian town on the verge of breaking point following the worst drought in a generation. Garry will be in conversation with Chris McDonald (The Wrong Man) and the talk will be followed by an audience Q&A and booksigning.

Tickets are just £6 or £9.99 including a copy of Mischance Creek.

Event starts at 6:30pm (doors at 6pm)

About the book:

A DEADLY DROUGHT. A BROKEN TOWN.

It's the worst drought in a generation, and the people of Senior Constable Paul Hirschhausen's vast outback beat are suffering. Foreclosures. Failing businesses. Petty quarrels that are spiralling out of control.

So when a naive tourist runs into a ditch beyond the ruins of Mischance Creek, Hirsch is relieved to step away from Tiverton. But Annika Nordrum asks for more than just roadside assistance. Her father's body was found at the bottom of a mineshaft seven years ago - his death ruled an accident - and her mother hasn't been seen since. Can Hirsch close this cold case before the town reaches breaking point?

About the author:

Garry Disher has published sixty titles across multiple genres, and is known as Australia's King of Crime. He has won the Deutscher Krimi Preis four times and the Ned Kelly Award three times. In 2018 he received the Ned Kelly Lifetime Achievement Award.
