Wednesday 16th April

Join us at Serenity Romiley for a fun-filled evening of crime, chocolate and festivities in the Easter holidays.
We've got FOUR wonderful crime fiction authors coming to Romiley on Wednesday 16th April for another evening of stories and fun! Tickets are £5 and will include a glass of wine or beer and a chocolate egg. The four authors will be interviewed by co-owner Chris Willocks and we'll have an opportunity afterwards for book signings, selfies and chats. Tickets for this event will be limited and we do expect it to sell out.
The fab four authors are:
Tariq Ashkanani
Tariq Ashkanani is a solicitor and co-host of the writing podcast Page One. His debut novel, Welcome to Cooper, won the Bloody Scotland Debut Award 2022, as well as being shortlisted for both the CWA John Creasey (New Blood) Dagger and Capital Crime Fingerprint Award. His second novel, Follow Me to the Edge, was published in 2022. His upcoming novel, The Midnight King, will be published by Viper in 2025. He lives in Edinburgh with his wife and two sons.
Kate Ellis
Kate Ellis was born in Liverpool and she studied drama in Manchester. She worked in teaching, marketing and accountancy before first enjoying writing success as a winner of the North West Playwrights competition. Crime and mystery stories have always fascinated her, as have medieval history and archaeology which she likes to incorporate in her books. She is married with two grown up sons and she lives in North Cheshire, England, with her husband.
Richard Hooton
Richard Hooton was born and brought up in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, and studied English Literature at the University of Wolverhampton before becoming a journalist and then going on to work in communications. He has won numerous prizes for his short fiction and The Margaret Code is his first novel. The grandmother-grandson pairing of amateur sleuths is inspired by the author's own relationship with his grandmother, who died of dementia when he was a teenager. Richard lives in Greater Manchester
Claire McGowan
Claire McGowan published her first novel in 2012 and has followed it up with numerous bestsellers in the crime fiction genre. She also writes women's fiction as Eva Woods. Claire has had four radio plays broadcast on the BBC, and her thrillers What You Did and The Other Wife were both number-one bestsellers. She ran the UK's first MA in crime writing for five years, and regularly teaches and talks about writing. She also writes scripts and has several projects in development for TV.
