This year's Underbanks Christmas lights switch on will be taking place on Saturday 29 November at 6pm.

The ceremony will take place in the Underbanks itself, with the Stockport Silver Band playing some festive tunes to add to the atmosphere.

Further still, the businesses along the Underbanks will be open and trading, so visitors can pick up some Christmas shopping at the same time.

There will also be delicious food and drink on offer.

This year's Underbanks switch-on is being delivered by Totally Stockport and the Stockport Independent Traders' Association.

And there's much more festive fun taking place throughout the town centre, including kids' gingerbread hunt trails, visits from Santa, North Pole letter writing, and more.
