Stockport County secure play-off spot after win over Huddersfield

Stockport County have secured a spot in the League One play-offs following a 2-1 win over Huddersfield on Monday 21 April.
The Hatters sit in a comfortable fifth position in the league with 81 points - they're now guaranteed a top-six finish, nine points clear of nearest rivals Leyton Orient.
It's a remarkable finish for County, who were only promoted to League One at the start of this season.
Winning in the play-offs would mean a promotion to the Championship, the second-tier of English football, in what would be a back-to-back promotion for the club.
In an interview after the Huddersfield game, manager Dave Challinor said: "The players have shown real, real character and resilience, and they've found a way to get results."
"In terms of points return, it's a brilliant effort.
"But now is not that time to reflect and say how well we've done, because we still have a carrot that's dangling and that we want to grab. And if we can't grab that carrot, then undoubtedly, there'll be some disappointment.
"But again, I'm sure there'll be huge pride with that we've done. We've proved quite a lot of doubters wrong.
"The aim was to be better than we were at the start of the season - we're definitely doing that.
"The majority of those players played League Two football last year [...]. We've gone from a team that have played in League Two, to all of a sudden being at the top end of League One. You can't do that without working hard.
"Regardless of what happens, we're in a much better place."
