Stockport County has issued a statement after being charged with a breach of the rules by the FA (Football Association).

The breach concerns a pitch invasion following their win in the League One Play-Off fixture against Stevenage FC on 13 May 2026.

The FA alleges that there was a failure to ensure that spectators did not encroach on the pitch, or ensure that they did not behave in a way which was improper, offensive, violent, threatening insulting or provocative.

The club has confirmed it has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E21, and added that it has written to the FA to acknowledge the charge and "will be engaging fully with this process".
