Young Stockport footballers treated to surprise tickets to Vertu Trophy Final at Wembley

A group of young football stars from Stockport have been surprised with tickets to see the Vertu Cup Final between Stockport County and Luton Town at Wembley Stadium.
Players from Spurley Hey FC's under-11 girls team were taking part in a regular training session when they were surprised by County stars Jack Diamond and forward Joseph Olowu, who presented them with free tickets.
The U11 team also got the chance to quiz the two County aces on everything from game mentality to skills and tactics on the pitch.
The visit was organised by Vertu, the UK-based automotive retailer which sponsors the trophy.
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu, hoped it would be: "A memorable experience for the team that will further fuel their dreams of one day walking out onto the Wembley pitch themselves as players."
He added: "Engaging with communities across the country has been key to our partnership with the EFL, and we are delighted to provide Spurley Hey with the opportunity to attend the Vertu Trophy Final.
Hannah Hewitt, Manager of the Spurley Hey U11 Girls team, said: "These girls come out to play football because they love it, and they certainly didn't expect to be surprised with the chance to go and watch a big game at Wembley.
"This is an amazing gesture by Vertu and is the stuff of dreams for our team. For them, the aim is to try to get to the top of the women's game, and it could be them walking out at Wembley in ten years' time.
"Generally the only time we keep them quiet is when they are at the football but I think there is no chance of that this time around – they'll be proper giddy kippers!
"Fingers crossed we'll be able to celebrate a victory for Stockport County, and I'm going for a 3-1 win."
It's certainly going to be an exciting fixture, and it really is anyone's guess as to who will take home the trophy.
Luton and Stockport drew 1-1 in their league match on 21 March, and betting markets suggest that odds are relatively level, with Stockport just edging Luton at a 6/4 win chance compared to Luton's 7/4.
The Vertu Trophy is a knockout cup tournament for leagues One and Two in the English Football League.
All 48 clubs in the two leagues take part, plus 16 Premier League and Championship academy sides.
The match kicks off at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 12 April at 3pm.
Around 10,000 County fans are making the trip down to the capital.
