Yellow warning for ice still in place around Stockport
The Met Office has issued a weather warning for ice, lasting until noon today (Wednesday 8 January).
A yellow warning is in place, meaning there is a medium likelihood of adverse weather, but with a relatively low impact.
Residents can expect some impact to transport, as well as icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
The Met Office warned of the potential for injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces, and advised that travellers allow extra time for journeys.
"Not needing to rush reduces your risk of accidents", a spokesperson said.
The temperature for the rest of today will vary between one and two degrees Celsius.
