The world's oldest working theatre organist is visiting Stockport Plaza for a special birthday event.

Dave Nicholas will be celebrating his 90th birthday by playing the Plaza's mighty Compton Organ on Saturday 19th July, in a free coffee morning from 11am-2pm.

Dave started his career in Birkenhead, and has loved playing cinema organ ever since he was young.

He's now best known for his role as organist for the film programme at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall.

And even at 90, Dave is still "brimming with enthusiasm".

As a Stockport Plaza spokesperson said: "We wanted him to play an organ in an original cinema once again to mark his 90th birthday which takes place this month.

"We welcome you to come and celebrate his 90th birthday with us!"
