A woman's body has been found by the canal at Marple Aqueduct.
Her body was lying on the grass by the water - the canal towpath has been taped off as emergency services attend the scene.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area.
The woman's identity is not known at the moment.
Police have said there are no suspicious circumstances around the death, MEN reports.
