A woman has been banned from every John Lewis in England and Wales after stealing £2,400 in designer fragrances from John Lewis in Cheadle.

Twenty-seven year old Agita Cica carried out an 'organised and consistent' string of thefts from the department store in Cheadle Royal.

Cica was caught stealing on 31 August 2024. She was intercepted by staff and police were called - however, as she was being arrested she gave false details.

Officers carried out further checks to verify her real identity.

She was summoned to Stockport Magistrates' Court on 3 October 2024. However, she failed to appear, prompting a warrant for her arrest.

After evading police for more than a year, she eventually surrendered to Northumbria Police on Tuesday 4 November 2025.

She pleaded guilty to four counts of theft at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Friday 12 December 2025.

The criminal behaviour order she was given bans her from visiting any John Lewis for 12 months.

Police Constable Kenneally of the Stockport District Investigation Unit said: "Cica's offending was not opportunistic — it was deliberate, organised and persistent.

"Shoplifting is far from a victimless crime.

"It places significant financial pressure on retailers, affects staff safety, and contributes to higher prices for honest shoppers.

"Greater Manchester Police take offences of this nature extremely seriously, and we will continue to work closely with businesses across Stockport to identify offenders, take swift action, and ensure those responsible are brought to justice."
