Woman arrested on suspicion of child neglect after 14-week-old baby dies in Reddish

A 36-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect following the death of a baby in Reddish.
Police were called to an address in North Reddish on Saturday 18 April following a 'concern for welfare'.
A 14-week-old baby girl was found there and taken to hospital, where she sadly died.
The 36-year-old remains in custody for questioning.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Emergency services were called to reports of a concern for welfare in North Reddish at 10:51am on Saturday 18 April.
"Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the baby sadly died at hospital.
"A 36 year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect and is in custody.
"A scene will remain in place whilst we conduct our investigation, which is still in its early stages. We are keeping an open mind and following all available lines of enquiry at this time."
