Winners announced for Stockport Small Business awards

Winners have been announced for the Stockport Small Business Awards following a public vote.

The 'Small Business Saturday' awards were launched and presented by Stockport MP Navendu Mishra, with the aim of celebrating independent businesses based in the constituency.

Stockport residents voted on a shortlist comprising five different categories with four nominees each. The nominees were themselves chosen from a longlist of public suggestions.

With more than 3,000 votes cast, the winners were as follows:

  • Stockport's Best Small Business- Kate O'Brien Art
  • Small Business with the Best Customer Service- The Coffee Bean Dream
  • Best Small Business Serving Food and Drink- Reddish Ale
  • Best Small Business for Buying Gifts- Knit2 Tog Wool Shop
  • Best New Small Business- The Last Track

The awards were launched and presented by Stockport MP Navendu Mishra.

"Stockport's independent small businesses are such a vital part of our local economy and our community", Mr Mishra said.

"From Castle Street in Edgeley to Bramhall Lane in Davenport, Broadstone Road and Reddish Road, to Heaton Moor Road and Stockport Town Centre, I am proud to represent a thriving network of small businesses."

"To recognise their incredible contributions, this year, I launched the Stockport Small Business Saturday Awards.

"I am grateful to everyone in Stockport constituency who nominated their favourite small businesses. After receiving over 3,000 votes in the final round, I was delighted to visit each winner personally to deliver their award.

"Thank you to Kate, Sarah, Christopher, Craig, Janet, Izzy and Hadey for welcoming me to your brilliant businesses."

"Congratulations to all of our deserving winners and all businesses who were nominated."
