Stockport is set for a host of varied events this weekend.

From music to gardening, street parties, flea markets and more, there is something for everyone here.

Gardening Session | The Landing, Merseyway Shopping Centre | Friday 2 June | 10am

Residents looking to get green-fingered will find much to enjoy at this gardening session at The Landing in Stockport town centre.

The event description is as follows: "The Landing is a community growing space, based on the roof car park at the Merseyway Shopping Centre. It was designed and built by Where The Light Gets In and Manchester Urban Diggers, and provides produce for the restaurant as well as the local community.

"Volunteer sessions take place every Friday, where you can learn the basics of organic growing principles and get involved in tending the garden. It is an oasis for re-connecting with nature, learning, growing and socialising in an unexpected space!

"Friday sessions are free, and all volunteers also get a free lunch cooked by the chef at Where The Light Gets In."

Rare Finds Flea Market | Middle Hillgate | Saturday 3 June | 11am

Looking for some second hand finds? Furniture, clothes, vintage memorabilia and more are all available at the Rare Finds flea market at 26 Middle Hillgate in Stockport centre.

An event description reads: "By coming to our flea market, you'll be supporting our local business community and helping Stockport become a hub for sustainably sourced finds!

"Rare Finds Flea is Rare Finds' monthly flea market, held in the heart of Stockport on the first Saturday of every month. We sell everything from second-hand furniture, vintage décor, homeware, fashion and more.

"Similar to a traditional car boot sale, our goal is to make vibrant, creative interiors accessible to all.

"We collaborate with local sellers to display a wide range of pieces so you can find a cheap deal for yourself or buy to resell.

"We encourage eco practices, so second-hand and handmade items are our focus. By coming to our flea market, you'll be supporting our local business community and helping Stockport become a hub for sustainably sourced finds!

"Want to trade with us? A fee of £15 per trader for each event is applicable; fee includes a table. Visit our website for more information, including how you can trade with us."
