Halcyon Days | St Chad's Theatre | Thu 14 - Sat 16 November

(Image supplied)

This amateur production of Deirdre Kinahan's Halcyon Days at St Chad's theatre continues its run until Saturday 16 November.

A description for Halcyon Days reads: "An uplifting, bittersweet drama set in a nursing home, celebrating friendship and the human spirit.

"Straightforwardly honest and touching… there's a wonderful balance between humour and poignancy here, and even within the humour, a rich blend of both unintentional hilarity and insightful wit."

Antiques Fair | Stockport Town Hall | Sat 16 November | 9am-3.30pm

(Image supplied / Cheshire Set Fairs)

A top antiques fair is returning to Stockport on Saturday 16 November.

Over 130 stalls will be set up in the magnificent Town Hall ballroom, representing a fantastic cross-section of the antiques market.

This fair will be the last of its kind before Christmas - so it's the last opportunity to get a rare festive gift!

Visitors can count on a good representation of vintage and retro items, along with a traditional range of collectables and artefacts.

This particular fair is run by Cheshire Set Fairs, and is the largest event in the organiser's calendar. It has been running for 45 years.

The organisers describe this event as "a well respected and popular fair [that] has survived so long due to the great atmosphere and opportunity to find a bargain".

There is catering available on site, and visitors can make use of the large multi storey car park adjacent to the Town hall on Lacy Street.

The event runs from 9am-3.30pm.

Ticket prices are £2.50 for adults, £2 for concessions, and children aged under 14 can enter for free so long as they are accompanied.

Spectacular Sunday | Stockport town centre | Sun 17 November | 11am-5pm

Spectacular Sunday - the free all-day festival - makes a return to Stockport this weekend.

On Sunday 17 November, the town centre will be packed with music, activities, performances, and much more.

It follows a similar Spectacular Sunday event last year - the 2023 event was responsible for the biggest Sunday on record in the town centre since 2019.

This iteration of Spectacular Sunday promises to be no less impressive, featuring more than 200 performers in 50 different shows / activities throughout the day.

Performers will be spread across the town centre, around the Merseyway, Underbanks, Market Place, and more.

The fun will be running from 11am-5pm, and if it needs saying again, it'll all be completely free!
