There is lots to do in and around Stockport this weekend.

Beginning the weekend on Friday from 6pm is the family fun night at Compstall Cricket Club.

On Saturday, a tribute to the late, great Gary Moore takes to the stage at The Spinning Top.

And on Sunday, Ireland: The Show returns to Stockport Plaza for a celebration of the Emerald Isle.

Also on Sunday is a 10cc plaque unveiling in Stockport town centre - unfortunately tickets have sold out for this event, but keep your eyes on Strawberry Studios!

Family fun night | Compstall Cricket Club | Friday 16 August | 6-9pm

A description for this event reads: "Get ready for an epic evening of laughter, fun, and games. Bring the whole family down to enjoy our bouncy castle, mini sports games for the kids, and a yummy tuck shop packed with all your favourite treats.

Forever Moore (Gary Moore tribute) | The Spinning Top | Saturday 17 August | doors 6.30pm, music from 8pm

Catch Forever Moore - a top Gary Moore tribute band - at The Spinning Top on Saturday 17 August.

A description for this event reads: "Forever Moore are the UK's only tribute to the late, great Gary Moore, playing all Gary's greatest hits, from his early solo career right through to his best known heavy rock & blues tracks.

"Expect to hear Out in the Fields, Still got the Blues, Wild Frontier and Parisienne Walkways, as well as hidden album classics, from the 'Lord of the Strings'."

The show starts at 8pm. Doors open at 6.30pm.

Tickets are £7 in advance, or £12 on the door.

Ireland: The Show | Stockport Plaza | Sunday 18 August | 7.30pm

Enjoy a little piece of the Emerald Isle in Stockport at the Plaza on Sunday 18 August, with this fantastically acclaimed show featuring comedy, music, culture, and more.

A description for this event reads: "Now seen by a live audience of over 250,000 to nightly standing ovations and rave reviews, join an all-star Irish cast of highly talented singers and performers accompanied by the fabulous Keltic Storm band and world champion Gael Force Irish dancers from an unmissable Ireland the Show that will take you on a rip roaring journey through the decades of a globally loved culture.
