Climate cuts film event - Adapt and Thrive? | Brinksway cinema club | Thu 22 January | 5.45-9pm

A night of inspiring short films all about how communities are bouncing back from extreme weather events and the effects of climate change.
Climate Cuts Film Event: Adapt and Thrive?
Brinksway Cinema Club at What if? is excited to continue our Climate Cuts series - action-inspiring community film nights that bring people together through a powerful format: Watch. Talk. Eat. Act.
Join us on Thursday January 22nd as we explore how communities in the UK and globally are bouncing back from extreme weather and the effects of climate change, and how we can all adapt and thrive by building more resilient communities together.
Doors will open at 5:45pm for drinks and mingling.
Louvre and Let Live (comedy murder mystery) | Thread, 22 Market Place | 7pm (doors) 7.45pm (start time)

Comedy. Improv. Murder. Mystery.
We're starting another murderous year with a bit of culture. It's nighttime at the museum and all the displays come to...DEATH?
When all the visitors have gone home what dark deeds will be done in the deserted hallways and galleries?
As usual, you suggest the characters who will appear in our story. Will it be Mona Lisa? Winston Churchill? A taxidermied stoat?
Whoever you pick, Murder Inc will make quite the exhibition of it, and by the end of the show, one unfortunate character will be HISTORY.

Dangerous Corner by J.B. Priestley | Chads Theatre | Sat 24 - Sat 31 January

Robert Caplan appears to have it all: a beautiful, intelligent wife and a successful publishing business with his friends and colleagues Olwen Peel, Charles Stanton, and Gordon Whitehouse. True, he lost his brother Martin to suicide, but his future looks promising. However, scratch the surface, and all is not as it seems. The play asks, "How dangerous is the truth?" Is it better to "let sleeping dogs lie," or should the truth be unearthed, whatever the cost? The play presents both possibilities.
Content advice: this play includes references to suicide; gun shots are heard offstage.
This amateur production of "Dangerous Corner" is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
Note that there are 2 performances on Saturday 31st January:- the matinee at 2:30pm and the evening performance at 7:45pm.
