A Celebration of Father Ted with Joe Rooney | Stockport Plaza | Friday 24 / Saturday 25 January | 7.30pm

Join comedian Joe Rooney as he celebrates the great sitcom Father Ted.

Shows start from 7.30pm on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th January.

"Join us in celebrating one of the greatest sitcoms ever made, as we welcome renowned stand-up Joe Rooney for a night of all things Father Ted!

"Joe featured as the rebellious Father Damo in the classic Father Ted episode The Old Grey Whistle Theft, leading Dougal astray with his earring, cigarette smoking and bad-boy attitude."

Agatha Christie's The Unexpected Guest | Chads Theatre | Saturday 25 January - Sat 1 February

Catch a top amateur production of this classic whodunnit from the Queen of Crime herself.

The description reads: "The setting is Llangelert House near the Bristol Channel on a foggy November night in the 1950s. A man crashes his car in the fog, goes to the house for help and finds that the owner, who is in a wheelchair, has been shot.

"His wife stands nearby holding a gun and confessing to the murder. Is she really guilty and can the 'unexpected guest' help her?"

Northside Brothers of Soul | Reddish WMC | Saturday 25 January | 7pm (doors)

Catch the fantastic brothers of soul at Reddish Working Men's Club this Saturday.

A description reads: "We're excited to welcome back The Northside Brothers of Soul to the club to kick off our 2025 live music nights.

"Join us for a night of sensational soul, motown and northern soul.

"Best of all entry is free, so forget those January blues and join us in the club to party the night away.

Daffodil 10k | Jackson Lane / Richmond Rovers (start point) | Sunday 26 January | 9.30am

Stockport's 10k daffodil race will return on Sunday 26 January. 

Open to runners of all abilities, this community-run race starts from Jackson Lane in Hazel Grove at 9.30am. 

More than 1,000 runners are expected, as well as a range of spectators lining the route.

In Conversation with Peter Tattersall | Stockport Museum | Sunday 26 January | 1-3pm

Catch Peter Tattersall at Stockport Museum on Sunday 26 January, where he'll be sharing insight and anecdotes from his decades of experience in the music industry. 

A description for this event reads: "This is a rare opportunity to be part of the audience in an intimate chat between Peter Tattersall, founder of Strawberry Recording Studios and Dr Peter Wadsworth, the curator of the Strawberry Studios archive. 

"Over the last few years they have been writing a book together called 'Strawberry Studios Forever' that will be published later this year, to tell Peter Tattersall's fascinating life story."

The event runs from 1-3pm on Sunday 26 January.
