Stockport is set for a whole host of varied events over the next few days.

Stockport rockers are in for a treat on Friday with Blind Tiger's performance at Amp, featuring covers from some of the greatest bands of all time.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian family fun day will be a welcome event for members of Stockport's Ukrainian community.

A production of The Wizard of Oz in Romiley will scratch that theatre itch, whilst 'Ireland: The Show' at the Plaza is sure to offer a similarly enjoyable spectacle.

Ukrainian independence day & family fun day | Stockport Ukrainian Club | Sat 19 August | 12-4pm

This is sure to be an excellent event for Stockport's Ukrainian Community

A fun day will take place on Saturday 19 August from midday, to celebrate Ukrainian independence day.

A fantastic event for Stockport's Ukrainian community - and for those interested in Ukrainian culture - this event features food, fairground rides, a bouncy castle and more.

Entry is free.

The Wizard of Oz | The Forum Theatre, Romiley | Sat 19 August | 2.30pm

Enjoy a memorable day with the family with this production of the Wizard of Oz in Romiley. The event takes place at the Forum Theatre, and starts at 2.30pm on Saturday 19 August. Doors open at 2pm.

A description for this event reads: "Twirly Productions brings to life the magical story of The Wizard of Oz in this family pantomime

"Young Dorothy Gale and her dog Toto are swept away by a tornado from their Kansas farm to the magical Land of Oz, and embark on a quest with three new friends to see the Wizard, who can return her to her home and fulfill the others' wishes."

Ireland: The Show | Stockport Plaza | Sat 19 August | 7.30pm

Enjoy a little piece of the Emerald Isle in Stockport at the Plaza on Saturday 19 August, with this fantastically acclaimed show featuring comedy, music, culture, and more.
