Stockport is set for a whole host of varied events over the next few days.

Stockport rockers are in for a treat this weekend with the Firevolt festival, featuring a top line up of rock and heavy rock bands from across the world. Elsewhere, at the artisan market, local shoppers can find everything from delicious bakes to hand-crafted trinkets.

A fundraising music night for Stopfordian Danny Boyle will also take place this weekend, to generate some much-needed support for him and his family in their time of need.

What's more, aspiring and established businessfolk alike will find much wisdom and enjoyment at the Bamford Arms for this Friday's networking event.

Feeling in need of some cranked amps, thumping bass and heart-shaking drums? You're in luck, as Firevolt festival starts tomorrow (Friday 11 August). 

Featuring a top lineup of rock bands, this festival takes place at Whitebottom Farm, Compstall, and will run until Sunday 13 August. 

Headline acts include Dare, Massive Wagon, The Answer, Royal Republic, the Kris Barras Band, and more.

Stockport Makers Market | Stockport Market Hall | Sat 12 August | 10am-4pm

Stockport Makers Market returns for August, with as unique and impressive a selection of traders as always. 

This event takes place at Stockport Market Hall, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 12 August. Entry to the hall is free.

A description for this event reads: "The Stockport Makers Market is back. Join us on the second Saturday of every month for a selection of the North West's finest food, drink, art, design and vintage.

"Featuring specially selected specialists, who source, grow, rear, bake, make, and create the products they sell. This makes sure their goods are unique, original and designed to inspire.

"Pop on down and support local makers, bakers and creators."

Bring Danny Home | The Wheatsheaf | Sat 12 August | 6pm

This musical event aims to raise money for Stopfordian Danny Boyle, who suffered a tragic accident whilst on holiday, owing to pneumonia. Read more about Danny's story HERE

The event will take place on Saturday 12 August atThe Wheatsheaf (Higher Hillgate) and will run from 6pm until late. 

Tickets are £12.50, and available from behind the bar. 

The event will feature live music from Thieves Like Us - who will be playing classics from the 60s to the present day - as well as a live DJ set from DJ Brinner involving back to back floor fillers.
