Community Cafe | St Barnabas' Church | Fri 12 January | 10am-12pm
A note from the organiser reads: "When Martin become Vicar of the Parish last year, I felt quite isolated at times not knowing anyone in the community. I noticed there wasn't a central meeting point in Lower Bredbury, which became a necessary part of my life once I had 3 children.
"The cafe idea received lots of encouragement as it's a chance for local people to gather together and chat about ANYTHING. It is easily accessible inside and out, a children's play area next to the tables, PLUS an adjoining comfy quiet room.
"The Community cafe is for anyone to come, sit and enjoy new surroundings."
The Last Quiz Night on Earth | The Garrick Theatre | Fri 12 / Sat 13 January | 7.30pm
A description for this event reads: "An asteroid is heading straight for us and there's nothing we can do about it, except join Landlady Kathy. She invites you to the final quiz night at The Four Horseman Pub. The night will be hosted by quiz master extraordinaire, Rav.
"Gather a team or go solo and answer as many questions as you can before time runs out. Be sure to expect the unexpected, you'll meet surprising visitors from the past who promise an explosive night (aside from the asteroid).
"This is your one and only chance to experience the famous Four Horsemen Pub Quiz, so what are you waiting for?"
