A haul of illicit items including drugs, weapons and cash were seized by police in Great Moor this morning (Tuesday 27 October).
Greater Manchester Police carried out a search warrant at a property on Buxton Road as part of an investigation into drug supply in the area.
In it, they found around 200 wraps of cocaine and heroin, drug paraphernalia, a large quantity of cash, a Surron e-bike, mobile phones, and blades - namely a pocket-knife and a machete.
Two arrests were also made: an 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon; and a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Both remain in custody and will face further police questioning.
This morning's warrant formed part of Operation Vulcan, a wide-ranging police project centred around Brinnington which aims to tackle criminality head-on, while 'laying foundations' to keep the crime rate lower in the future.
Sergeant Oli Cooper, from the Operation Vulcan team, said: "The Vulcan team has been operating in the area for eight months now, but we are not slowing in our efforts. Today's results have provided significant disruption to criminality in the area, reminding them that we are constantly working and acting on intelligence.
"We have recovered thousands in harmful and illicit substances, as well as numerous other items. Getting deadly weapons out of irresponsible hands is always a positive outcome too.
"If you are in Brinnington, our message is very clear: we are there for you, and will do what we can to help you with any issues you may have."
