Voting is now open for a new award celebrating small businesses in Stockport.

The 'Small Business Saturday' awards aim to celebrate independent businesses based in the Stockport constituency.

The shortlist features five different categories, with four nominees each. The nominees were the most popular out of a longlist of public suggestions.

Voters can choose one business per category. The voting closes on 24 November.

Stockport MP Navendu Mishra said: "There are so many hubs of great businesses in our town.

"From Castle Street in Edgeley to Bramhall Lane in Davenport, Broadstone Road and Reddish Road, to Heaton Moor Road, I am proud to represent a thriving network of small businesses.

"Small businesses are the backbone of Stockport's economy. Small Business Saturday is on 6 December, and I want to celebrate their contribution to our community."
