Up to 150 new homes could be built next to flood-prone A555

Up to 150 homes could be built next to the A555 Manchester Airpport Eastern Link Road under new plans.
A planning application will be submitted to the council by later this year by Miller Homes, in a scheme based off Moor Lane in Woodford.
The developer said it aims to build a mix of homes that will benefit the neighbourhood.
But stretches of the A555 have been hit by major flooding in recent years, with cars seen completely submerged in water this January after heavy rain across Greater Manchester.
Bramhall South and Woodford councillor Peter Crossen has also raised concerns recently about building new homes in the area, saying roads and services are already under huge strain.
Peter Carus, senior strategic planning manager at Miller Homes, said its plans are an 'evolving process' being made alongside talks with the local community.
He added: "The development would deliver homes which would help Stockport council meet its housing needs and bring benefits to Woodford, including a mix of private and affordable homes, ensuring that those who wish to live and work in the area are able to do so."

A leaflet about the proposals showed it includes 'substantial public open space' with play areas and improvements to Handforth Brook.
Plans are also being made for a network of footpaths through green corridors, a connection to Fred Perry Way, and creating a pond feature to act as natural drainage.
The leaflet asks residents in the area to share their feedback by emailing [email protected] by August 15.
It states: 'Through this consultation, we are welcoming you to get in touch to share your local knowledge about the site and the area.
'This knowledge will be fed back to the team of technical consultants working on the project who are considering matters such as ecology and landscaping, heritage and culture, flood risk and drainage, and highways.'
