Two men have been sentenced after fracturing a man's skull in Cheadle Hulme.

Mohmand Ahmadyar-Khan, a concierge at the Fabrick apartment complex in Cheadle Hulme, was attacked after he went to challenge three men thought to be taking balloons in the bin room.

He asked the men to leave after complaints from residents, but Minshull Street Crown Court heard they quickly became aggressive.

One man warned he was "going to get poked", which Mr Ahmadyar-Khan understood to mean he was about to stab him, though there was no evidence any of the three possessed a weapon.

Mr Ahmadyar-Khan warned the three they were on camera. He was then punched in the head, before another man, Joshua Maddocks, threw a small gas canister at him.

The three men fled the scene, leaving Mr Ahmadyar-Khan in a "daze" as he made his way back home, covered in blood.

He was rushed to hospital with difficulty speaking, and was found to have suffered a fractured skull. He was told he needed 46 metal clips over his scar, and he later complained of feeling weak and having difficulty sleeping.

Mr Ahmadyar-Khan was unable to return to his job following the incident, which took place on 19 September 2023. He has since found other work.

Maddocks, 20, of Woodstock Avenue, pled guilty to inflicting serious bodily harm. Kole Barratt, 21, of no fixed address, pled guilty to inflicting serious bodily harm, as well as trespassing with intent to steal, theft, and three counts of attempted theft.

Maddocks has been jailed for two years. Barratt was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work with a further ten rehabilitation activity requirement days.

The third man remains outstanding.
