Trains faced 'major' disruption between Stockport and Manchester on Saturday evening (6 September) as emergency services responded to an incident.

The railway line was closed entirely from around 7pm while emergency services dealt with an incident at Levenshulme Station.

Services experienced delays, cancellations, and revised routes.

Lines re-opened around 11pm, with disruption continuing until late in the day.
