The Light cinema in Stockport town centre is celebrating national cinema day by offering reduced price tickets.

The cinema is offering £3 tickets for all shows on Saturday 2 September, as well as select shows on Sunday 3.

In addition to the ubiquitous Barbenheimer, showings range from action to family films.

If you're looking for some high-octane thrills, consider The Equalizer 3, Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One, or The Meg 2. Or, if superheroes are your thing, try Blue Beetle, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, or Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Meanwhile, Pixar's Elemental and a centenary edition of Disney's Peter Pan are fantastic options for families.

As the National Cinema Day website describes: "Hundreds of cinemas across the UK are coming together to celebrate National Cinema Day, inviting everyone to enjoy the incomparable sights and sounds of the big screen experience."
