Stretch of Cheadle Road closed after crash which left man in 'serious' condition

A man has been left in serious condition following a crash in Cheadle in the early hours of Wednesday morning (8 October).
The incident occurred around 1.20am along The Spinney in Cheadle.
The vehicle, a BMW, had failed to stop for police, and had then crashed near Cheadle College.
The driver - a man in his 50s - has been taken to hospital.
Officers are in attendance at the scene, with a cordon in place and cars being diverted away from the area.
A car was seen on its roof at the scene, Manchester Evening News reports.
A spokesperson for GMP said: "Officers are currently dealing with an incident on The Spinney in Cheadle.
"Shortly after 01:20 on Wednesday 8 October, a BMW was involved in a collision after failing to stop for police. A male in his 50s has been taken to hospital and remains in a serious condition.
"The A5149 Cheadle Road is currently closed from Schools Hill to Farley Court whilst officers investigate."
