On Sunday 24 September from 12-5pm, a group of 20 artists will descend on Canal Street and paint a series of artworks along the walls and shutters.
Delivered by GRIT Studios - the artistic group behind La Boca to La Stocka and Art Battle - Paint Jam forms part of a general project of artistic beautification throughout Stockport Town Centre.
This project will see the creation of a corridor of art leading down to the Underbanks, which, factoring in the existing La Boca mural, will be almost half a kilometre long.
In addition to the painters, there will also be food, music, beer from The Runaway Brewery, and even some skate ramps.
This event has been funded by the UK government, as part of its 'Levelling Up' agenda. Stockport received £8.1 million from the government to fund these sorts of activities, as well as to generally improve public services and boost the town's wellbeing. It is another event in Stockport's Town of Culture calendar, proving that Stockport can be confident in boasting its impressive cultural prowess.
