Stockport welcomes new police district commander
By Alasdair Perry 12th Feb 2026
Greater Manchester Police has appointed a new district commander for Stockport.
Chief Superintendent Natalie Dalby assumes the new role at the head of Stockport's Neighbourhood Crime Team, and is promising to 'crack down on crime across the board'.
Ch. Supt. Dalby has spent 25 years in the force, serving in a range of posts including in the Sex Offenders' Management Unit, the Public Protection Unit, and the Professional Standards Branch.
Her priorities for Stockport are to reduce neighbourhood crime, improve investigation standards, and improve care and satisfaction for victims of crime.
She is also hoping to continue on the successes of Stockport's Neighbourhood Team, which in the last few years has presided over a reduction in burglaries, shoplifting, and personal robbery.
Ch. Supt. Dalby said: "Over the last couple of months, I have met multiple teams and officers across Stockport, and who I know are continuing to provide their communities with the best possible service.
"Everyone deserves to live without the threat or fear of criminality within their area and it is vital that we crack down on crime across the board to ensure people feel the effects first-hand.
"Over the last couple of years, Stockport officers have already made significant inroads into multiple types of crime – from town centre shoplifting issues to residential burglaries. I have no doubt that we will see further positive outcomes throughout 2026."
