Police appeal for information after serious collision in Stockport town centre

Police are appealing for information following a serious collision in Stockport town centre this afternoon (Tuesday 27 May)

A car was travelling along Piccadilly - near Stopford House - when it collided with a 79-year-old woman who was on foot.

The woman was taken to hospital, where she is receiving treatment for what are believed to be life-changing injuries.

Police attended the scene from 1pm. The road was closed with a cordon in place.

As officers continue with enquiries, they are now appealing for anyone with information regarding the collision to come forward.

This includes anyone with dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage of the incident, or saw what happened.
