Stockport Royal Nawaab Pyramid to take centre stage in new Channel 4 documentary
By Alasdair Perry 6th May 2026
Stockport Pyramid will be hitting screens across the UK, with the Royal Nawaab Restaurant due to feature in a new Channel 4 documentary.
Dubbed The World's Biggest Curry Restaurant, the documentary will offer an exclusive behind the scenes look at the workings of the Nawaab Pyramid, which opened in 2025.
The documentary promises to follow "the pressure, passion, scale and spectacle behind the largest Pakistani-Indian restaurant in the world".
A description adds: "From serving thousands of diners every week to hosting unforgettable weddings and events, this is Royal Nawaab as you've never seen it before".
The new show premiers on Friday 22 May at 8pm on Channel 4.
Stockport Pyramid, for many residents' living memory, has been either the Co-op headquarters or has been entirely vacant.
But in April 2025, it opened as the Royal Nawaab restaurant, a banqueting hall and events venue specialising in Indian and Pakistani cuisine.
The Royal Nawaab team made the announcement on social media today (Wednesday 6 May 2026).
