Stockport Pride is set for a return to the town centre on 30 July, with stalls, music, a parade, and more.

The aim of the event is to celebrate equality, diversity, and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community in the borough.

Proceedings will centre around Stockport's historic Market Place, running from 11am to 6pm. In Castle Yard, for example, is the Martyn Hett stage. This will host drag queens, musicians, a DJ, cabaret, as well as 'community spotlight speakers' including Forward Stockport LGBT+, BiPhoria and The George House Trust.

The parade, perhaps the focal point of this event, will begin at 12pm from Lower Hillgate, progressing through the Underbanks and down to the Merseyway. After progressing along the outdoor Merseyway street, the parade will head indoors and out onto Mersey Square, circuiting around Bridgefield Street, Prince's Street, Bridge Street, Warren Street, and then up to Market Place.

Meanwhile, stalls around Market Place will host local charities, community groups, clothing, crafts, food, drink, and more.

The event will also host an 'inclusive family space'. The space aims to 'allow families to celebrate Pride together', and will feature arts and crafts, play equipment and drag queen story times.

Stockport Museum will also feature some activities. Further still, just around the corner at Disability Stockport, there will be a 'quiet space', 'for those who just need to get that peace and quiet at Pride'.

The event is free to attend. Find more information, including full lists of performers and stalls, on the Stockport Pride website HERE.
