Last Sunday (2 June), the town centre was packed for Stockport Pride 2024.

This annual event featured a massive parade, live performances, and a huge range of stalls - offering everything from counsel to colourful ponchos.

Among the many attendees were staff from Stockport NHS, who showed their support for LGBTQI+ colleagues and patients with a stall in the Market Hall, and with a few staff members in the parade itself.

And it wasn't just local NHS staff - Pride was a busy day all around, with visitors from far and wide taking part in festivities.

Also present were other local organisations such as Vernon Building Society, Age UK, St Ann's Hospice, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Totally Stockport, and many more.

Top entertainment on the day included a set from Rowetta, formerly of the Happy Mondays, and a performance from actor, television personality and drag performer Kitty Scott-Claus, a fan favourite from RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

Stuart McKenna, of the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, said: "We're proud to create an inclusive environment for our LGBTQI+ colleagues and the local community.

"This was a hugely fun and enjoyable day, and a really joyful way of showing our solidarity, allyship and support."
