Stockport's Post Office branch is considering a move to a new location in the town centre.

The Post Office has shared proposals to move into TG Jones at 35 Merseyway, (formerly WHSmith). It's a short stroll from the current branch location on Great Underbank.

The office would then be run by TG Jones as a retail partner, as part of plans to 'fully franchise' the Post Office network.

A spokesperson said the move to a franchised network would "create a long-term, sustainable future" for the Post Office. It's part of a "wider commitment to deliver a new deal for postmasters", they added.

The Post Office has is seeking feedback from the public on the proposals to move.

They've opened a dedicated page where the public can share their views in an online survey.

The survey asks questions such as whether the new office would be easier to get to for customers.

It also provides space for people to share any community issues which could arise, what could be made easier for customers, and any other general comments.

The survey closes on 17 September, so if you'd like to give feedback, make sure you do so by then.
