A nurse from Stockport has been honoured with the prestigious 'Queen's Nurse' title.
Sarah Turner has been working as a nurse in the area for almost 30 years, in which time she has dealt with infection outbreaks, vaccinations, and much more.
The Queen's Nurse title is a recognition of "high standards of practice and person-centred care".
Awarded by the Queen's Nursing Institute, the title is given to those nurses who have demonstrated exceptional care.
Applicants have to go through a rigorous application process, and not all those who enter are successful.
Sarah's bid, though, was successful - she will be presented with the title officially on 29 November in a ceremony at London's Millennium Gloucester Hotel.
"It's really rewarding to know that I am making a difference to Stockport residents' health and providing them with the best possible care", Sarah said.
"Being honoured with the Queens Title after nearly 30 years in nursing and this recognition really means a lot to me."
She added: "My role is really varied, I deal with everything from managing an infection outbreak to planning a new vaccination rollout.
"For example the new RSV vaccine that helps protect against respiratory syncytial virus, a common virus that can make babies and older adults seriously ill."
